Ringway Jacobs are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Engineer to join our Design Team, working on the Essex Highways Integrated Services contract in partnership with Essex County Council. You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Engineers in the delivery of a wide range of highway engineering projects and be actively involved in the development of staff to ensure they are getting the necessary support.
- Carryout designs on a wide range of traffic engineering / highways design schemes using existing best practice, guidance and within the current legislative framework. - Assist with the preparation of reports for projects to Local Highways Panels, County and District Council committees and to attend meetings to provide support as appropriate. - Prepare and assist in the production, management and monitoring of works programmes or services, to ensure that schemes are delivered on time and within budget. - Provide timely and accurate advice to County Councillors, District Members, Parish Councils and the general public on all highway-related matters as required. - Monitor and report on the performance of projects for specific areas of responsibility and externally procured teams. - Develop and mentor team members, providing guidance and technical support for their development.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) - Competent in the use of AutoCAD - Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills (including report writing) - Organised and able to meet and manage deadlines of others - Full clean driver's license - Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team - Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope - Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally
